Dolphinton Hall

Thank You

Re-opening Dolphinton Hall would not have been possible without a huge team effort – it really does take a village!

The Committee past and present have given up literally hundreds of hours of their time – many of us work full time/part time and are extensively involved in other community ventures. I would like to acknowledge & also thank them for coming along to meetings, filling out (many, many) forms, reading over reports, getting the Hall ready for events, giving advice, making decisions and most importantly - humungous amounts of peer support!

We have also had a lot of help and support from various neighbours and family and friends – some of it financial, some of it practical and some of it both. You have all been fantastic and we look forward to your continued support and to seeing you at lots and lots of future events!!

Working with the Council was made a whole lot easier with the guidance (and patience) of Iain Mulholland in the Asset Transfer Dept and Stuart Law in the Estates Dept. The Licensing Dept has also been helpful in coaching us through our application for our public entertainment license. The local councillors for our Black Mount area have also been extremely helpful and we can’t forget to thank Alistair Muirhead and his team at Elsrickle Hub who gave generously of their time & advice.

And lastly, I want to mention money – even with all the effort as described above, the Hall could not have re-opened without money. Many of you have been extremely generous in giving us donations and we have also had grant funding money from the following –

  • Black Mount Community Council – micro grant programme
  • South Lanarkshire Council’s Renewable Energy Fund & Local Action Fund
  • The Orcome Trust at Newhall

We are extremely grateful to all of our funders & also to those of you who have donated and supported us.

Thank you
Committee
